Helping Haiti!!

     Hey Folks!!! Haiti needs our help! Act Now!! There are many ways to do it and everyone can!!

     I helped raise some money for the Haiti people during my vacation. You know how I did it? First, I wrote a letter to Star Princess’s cruise director J.J. and this is what I wrote:

Dear J.J.,

My visit to Kay’s B&B Falkland Islands

    When we arrived to Falkland Islands, we first went to visit a place called Kay’s B&B.  It is a home-stay with a beautiful garden.  My mom called Kay a few weeks ago to ask if she could help us get tickets for a very popular tour.  She was real nice.  She tried very hard but they were all sold out long ago.  But we were still lucky to be able to visit this nice lady and her lovely garden.

MAGIC CLASS ON BOARD

Tell you what!  On the ship, there was a magician!!  His name was Greg Moreland and he even has his own website!!  It is www.gregmoreland.com.  He is a great comedy magician. He is one of the coolest magicians I’ve ever met.   Check out his videos on youtube.  Guess what else he did on the ship?  He was Star Princess’s Magic teacher!!  He taught us how to do these magic tricks: The Royal Hotel, Mississippi Shuffle, The 4 Burglars, Band up the Nose, Pen up the nose, etc.  

Rockies in Stanley-Falkland Islands

    Today (1/29) was SO COOL!!!  We were just planning to walk around the island because all the tours we wanted were sold out.  But me and my mom were really lucky to get 2 tickets because someone gave up at the last minuet.  It's a tour to see ROCKHOPPER penguins and guess what? We had to go on a bus and then to a 4WD which was really, really bumpy and on the way there, we had to sit on the back, back seat and it was the bumpiest seat in the whole car.

    Guess what? I just saw a bunch of Magallanic Penguins out there!! In fact, UP CLOSE!!! This is how it started, it is January 27, 2010, I went to Punta Arenas!!  It is this cool place that is in Chile. Or better said COLD place in Chile.

Antarctica News

    I am in Antarctica already or past it but this is so cool!! It is January 26, 2010. I’ll tell you about it, after me and my family got on the ship “STAR PRINCESS, we sailed to Antarctica but we actually didn't step on it.  We saw some magnificent glaciers on the islands surrounding the Antarctic Penninsula.  Also, we saw a TON of icebergs floating around, one even kind of had a swimming pool!

And the best part was that WE SAW A FEW PENGUINS HANGING AROUND THERE!!!  I think they were Gentoos, but, we just saw them through binoculars so it was not very worth it.  BUT, tomorrow I am going to Punta Arenas and probably I’m gonna see a few penguins CLOSE UP.

Next, I am going to Falkland Islands and go on this awesome tour and they say that we are going to see a few penguins.  I guess that is all for this time! =)  See ya!!!

The Story Behind " The Dusty Kingdom"

    This is the story why I put this in my blog: My 1st grade teacher, Ms. Bungay, told the whole class to write a story.  And I wrote this one.  Then, a few days after I gave it to Ms. Bungay, the PRINCIPAL called me to his office.  I was really scared and while I was walking to the office, I kept thinking WHAT wrong I did.  When I got to the office, the secretary was waiting for me... Creepy...

   She told me that the principal, Mr. Donaldson, wanted to see me. So I went to Mr. Donaldson's room and sat on a chair. Then...(hey guys? Are you ready?) He slaped me on the butt...

My Jellyfish Adventure

    My Jellyfish Adventure began as... Me and my family went to this aquarium that you actually get to sleep in.  Kinda like camp but only you got to get into sleeping bags and sleep in front the tanks after the crowd has all gone.  The aquarium was called "National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium" in Pindong (屏東) south of Taiwan. 

The Dusty Kindom

    Once upon a time, there was a magical kingdom.  That kingdom was from Mars, and every year there is a huge dust devil blowing.  That was not good for me, the queen of that kingdom.

《Katie》: Yeah right you're melting, then why are you still standing there solid?  Fine, let's go in.

The Land of Adventure

~Written in 1st grade

     One summer afternoon, me and my family were playing in the extraordinary, sunny, Caribbean beach.  The sea was so, so, so blue that it looked like there was no sky.

    Then, I took my sand set out and started digging - then suddenly the ground began to shake… It was like an earthquake!!  The hot sun grew hotter and hotter - then HOTTER!!

    Then it was absolutely still, very still, I looked around – I saw a fairy.

How to Disguise Spy

-Get a few stuff and toys to pretend to not spy. Example: Hannah Montana walkie talkie so that the victim thinks you are just playing.

-Try your best to evesdrop.

-Don't stare or misteriously look at your victim or else she or he will think you are really spying on him or her.

-Don't be so quiet and busy evesdropping, play and make some noise, but not too loud or you won't hear anything.

-JUST TRY TO BLEND IN!!

Global Warming

Global warming is when the earth heats up and temperature rises. It harms many people, plants, and animals. It is caused by “greenhouse effect”.

GREENHOUSE EFFECT

Greenhouse effect is when the sun’s heat and rays gets trapped in the Earth’s atmosphere.

Gentoo penguin

Gentoos have a white patch like an eyebrow. They have long, stiff tail that stick out when they walk.
